Lukla Airport

Also popular as Tenzing- Hillary Airport, Lukla airport connects Kathmandu to Everest Region. All Everest region treks begin from Lukla after a short and scenic flight of 35 minutes from Kathmandu. People consider Lukla airport as the most dangerous airport in the world. It is located on the rocky base of the mountain in Lukla town. The runway covers a 527 m area. It is located at an elevation of 2845m above sea level. We have daily flights from Kathmandu to Lukla during good weather. But the flight is disturbed due to bad weather conditions. Lukla Airport is not only for the passengers but also for cargo transfer and the goods which are required for the Everest region. Since it is referred to as the most dangerous airport, the pilots who have completed 100 short flights are allowed to take the flight to Lukla. There is Daily Flight Done By Three Airline Company. This is a regional airport located in the beautiful city, Pokhara. It is located at an elevation of 900m above sea level. Pokhara airport provides direct connections to Jomsom and Kathmandu. Jomsom is 20 minutes flight and for Kathmandu, it takes 30 minutes. Pokhara international airport is under construction.

Jomsom Airport

Jomsom Airport locating itself on the bank of Kali Gandaki River in Mustang district serves daily flights to Pokhara.  Bharatpur Airport

Bharatpur Airport is located in Bharatpur Metropolitan city in Chitwan district. This airport primarily serves the flights for the people who want to go to Chitwan National Park. The airport was closed between 181-1985 due to the political problem in the country.

The airport resides at the 183m elevations from sea level. It has an 1158m runway. It is Nepal’s 4th busiest airport.

 Bhairawa Airport

Bhairawa Airport, now, Gautam Buddha Airport is located in Siddharthanagar municipality in Rupandehi district. The government of Nepal is turning this airport into an international airport. The airport resides at an elevation of 109 m above sea level. It has a single runway with a 1510m runway.

The plan to change this airport to an international airport began in 2015 and was supposed to end in 2017. But the construction was delayed and the deadline has been postponed to 2019.

 Tumlingtar Airport

Tumlingtar airport is located in the Sankhuwasava district of Nepal. This airport resides at an elevation of 518m above sea level. It has a single runway which is 1200m long. Tumlingtar airport serves regular flights to Biratnagar airport and Kathmandu airport. People use this airport to make their trip to Makalu Base Camp.

Simikot Airport

Simikot Airport is located in Simikot, the district headquarter of Humla district. Since it is difficult to build up roads in the Humla district, this airport serves as the main travel way to the entire district. Simikot Airport facilitates the people who are going to Mt. Kailash and Lake Manasarovar from the Nepal side.

Simikot Airport is situated at an elevation of 2818m above sea level. It has a single runway with 549m in length.

 Janakpur Airport

Janakpur Airport is situated in Janakpur city in the Dhanusa district of Nepal. The airport resides at an elevation of 78m from sea level. It has a single runway which measures 1300m. Currently, Buddha airlines and Yeti airlines are serving the daily flight to Janakpur airport from Kathmandu. Also, a new airport is under construction in Janakpur to handle passengers going to Janakpuri.

Juphal Airport

Juphal airport also known as Dolpa airport located in Juphal in Dolpa district. Juphal airport serves the flights to Nepaljung. This airport is the only means of connecting the Dolpa district. This airport also connects She Phoksundo Lake and She Phoksundo National Park and opens the way to Upper Dolpo Trekking, a remote area trekking in Nepal.

The airport resides at an elevation of 2804m above the main sea level. It has a single runway of 560m in length.

Jumla Airport

Jumla airport is located in Jumla, the district headquarter of Jumla district. The airport is located at an elevation of 2347m above the main sea level. It has a very narrow single runway of 670m which can handle the Nepal Army Air Service.
