A magnificent representation of arts and architecture from the Medieval period. Under renovation now. Many buildings were collapsed in April Earthquake-2015. A huge Kalvairav Statue and Living Goddess, Kumari to see.

National Museum, Chhauni, Kathmandu

The main attractions are the collection of historical artworks (sculpture and paintings) and a historical display of weapons used in the wars in the 18-19th century. The museum has separate galleries dedicated to statues, paintings, murals, coins, and weapons.

One of the oldest Hindu Temple of the god Shiva is located at the bank of the holy Bagmati River.  On the occasion of Shivaratri,  thousands of pilgrims come to visit this temple. 
Changunarayan Temple

This shrine is dedicated to Lord Visnu and held in special reverence by the Hindu people. This temple is considered to be the oldest temple in the history of Nepal representing arts and architecture from ancient times.

The museum showcases artifacts that were found during the excavation of Tilaurakot and has the artifacts back from the Eighth Century B.C.
