When you travel to Nepal. In the First step, you will choose to stay in Thamel. Before starting your trek or After completing your trek it is best option to go sightseeing in an ancient Temple and Durbar square of Kathmandu city. In Kathmandu Valley, you get three different old Durbar Square. They are Kathmandu Durbar Square, Patan Durbar Square, and Bhaktapur Durbar Square.

Kathmandu Durbar Square

This Kathmandu Durbar Square is just 20 20-minute walking distance from the Thamel. The real name is Basantapur and also Local people call it Hanuman Dhoka. This ancient historical Kathmandu Durbar square was built by the Malla King. To visit Durbar Square all the tourists have to buy an entrance ticket which costs 10$ per person. The main entrance of the Kathmandu Durbar Square is called Hanuman Dhoka. When you enter into the Durbar square you will see different chowk. Chowk means the courtyards.  You can Nasal Chowk, Pach Mukhi Hanuman Mandir, Lohan Chowk, Mul Chowk,Taluju Mandir, Tribhuwan Muesum, Basantapur Tower etc. At the Southern end of the Durbar Square, there is the Kumari Chowk. Where you can see the living god Kumari. At the southwestern end, there is the old Building called Kasthamandap. The local People believe that this Building was built by a single tree. And the name Kathmandu Originated from this Palace Kasthamandap. The Strongest God Kaal Bhairav, Sweta Bhairav is another impressive thing to see here.

Patan Durbar Square

Patan Durbar Square is Just 8km from the Thamel. Patan Durbar Square is well known as the city of arts. To visit Durbar square you need to buy an Entrance ticket. It has cost 10$. When you get into Durbar Square you can see many ancient Chowk and Temple there. Inside Durbar Square there is Sundari Chowk. In Sundari  Chowk can see Tusha Hiti and Bhandarkhal Temple. Also, Mul Chowk, Taleju Bhawani Mandir, Patan Museum, and Krishna Mandir are Impressive things to see.

Bhaktapur  Durbar Square

It is half an hour's drive from the Thamel. Bhaktapur Durbar Square is well known as the “ City for Devotees “. To get into Durbar Square you need to buy an entrance fee that costs 15$ per person. What you can see in Bhaktapur Durbar Square is The Golden Gate ( Sun Dhoka ), The Palace of 55 Window, the National Art Museum,  Chyasin Mandap, Siddhi Lakshmi Mandir, Kumari Chock, Pottery Place all these are an impressive point to see in Bhaktapur.
