Day 01:Arrival in Kathmandu, Transfer to Hotel

Today you are stepping into Nepal for the trip you are undertaking. For this, you may use international flights or optionally, can go with drive via the Tibetan and Indian border. Whatever way you choose to enter Nepal; you will be received by our representative at the airport or the bus station. And then, you will be transferred to the hotel immediately. It is a short drive of 30 minutes from the airport to the hotel. However, you may get in heavy traffic on the way to the hotel because Kathmandu is getting crowded day by day. Also, do not pay your time for unnecessary airport hassles. Hope, it will not disturb your trip. After you arrive at the hotel, you will put your luggage and get refreshed and we will organize a short orientation meeting about the trip. We will have a dialogue. We will introduce your guide to you at the same time. -Overnight in Hotel-

Today, your trekking leader or the guide will come to receive you at the hotel where you stay and take you to the tourist bus stand. If you are flying, you will be taken to the airport. Today’s drive or flight takes you to Pokhara. The tourist bus stand is around 10 mins. walk or you may get a taxi too, from Thamel, or from the hotel where you stay. The tourist buses leave at 7 for Pokhara every morning. I is around 7-8 hours to get to Pokhara from Kathmandu. On the way, you will see a beautiful country setting, river, woods, and local people and their lifestyle. Also, we see people enjoying white water river rafting. Pass Mughling, Damauli and we eventually arrive in Pokhara -Overnight in a Hotel-

Morning, at around 8, after breakfast, we take a drive for about 1 and a half hours through beautiful villages Naudanda and Lumle to Nayapul. Your trekking trip starts here. Now, you pass Nayapool and arrive at Birethanti where you will see the Annapurna Conservation Area Office check post. Show your permits here and begin to hit the trail. The trail leads up passing via the beautiful rice, maize, and millet fields. We will pass numerous natural waterfalls following the main trail of Birethanti. Today’s trail is mild along the motorable road till we get to Tokhedhunga. On the way, we have lunch at Sudami village. After lunch, we ascend gradually side of the valley to the beautiful settlement of Hille, and after around half an hour working from Hille, you will get to Tikhedhunga. Enjoy the local people, culture, greenery, and melodious water stream at Tikhedhunga. Spend the overnight in a guest house-Overnight in the Lodge-

Have breakfast and set everything for today’s trek to Ghorepani. Trekking to Ghorepani (2880m) from Tikhedhunga is for approx. 7 hr. Today, initially, the trail crosses the Tikhedunga River on the suspension bridge, then drops and crosses the Bhurungdi Khola. Now, you will begin to climb a steep stone staircase till you get to a large Magar village Ulleri (2080m). We will have a little view of the mountain and beautiful landscapes from Ulleri. Trek to Banthanti from Ulleri and have lunch there. After lunch, we will pass through pastures and cultivated fields. We will encounter cool and lush oak and rhododendron forests through the journey. The chirping birds and natural waterfalls on the way make your trip to Ghorepani more spectacular today. Pass Nangethanti and continue working for about one hour, then, finally, we will reach Ghorepani village. -Overnight in Lodge-

The next day, you will make the early-morning departure to Poon Hill (3210m) which is one of the best Himalayan viewpoints in Nepal in the Annapurna region. You will spend around 45 minutes to get to the top of the Poonhill. You will be astonished to have the spectacular panoramic views of the Himalayas of the region. It offers the best majestic scenery and sunrise over the high mountains. Capture the most astounding views of Dhaulagiri I (8167m), Tukuche (6920m), Nilgiri (6940m), Annapurna South, Annapurna I (8091m), Mt. Fishtail (Machhapuchhare, 6997m), LamjungHimal (6986m) and many more. You can have tea and coffee at the top.

Now, descend to Ghorepani and have your breakfast. Trek to Tadapani starts for the rest of the day for more than 8 hours. You will have incredible views of Dhaulagiri and Annapurna on the way to Tadapani. Descend steeply through dense rhododendrons and a moss-covered forest rich with bird life. Cross the bridge over a stream and another ascent for 1 hour finally takes us to Tadapani. Stay overnight at Tadapani-Overnight in Lodge-

After breakfast, your journey down via lush forest leads to Ghandruk which takes about 4 hours. Take a downhill path continuing to Ghandruk from Tadapani passing incredible landscapes and waterfalls, the largest Gurung village. Here, you will go to visit the Gurung ethnic museum to explore their culture and ancient traditions. If we have time, we also can go to visit the Annapurna Conservation Area Project Office. Go to German Bakery and enjoy fresh bakery items with coffee. Enjoy a good Mountain View of Annapurna South and Fishtail from Ghandruk. Overnight in Lodge-

In today’s trek, you will pass through beautiful hamlets, terraced rice fields, and subtropical forests. The trek today will be down and flat in the final section. We will have an easy and delightful walk along the Modi Khola to Birethanti. We register our check out at the Annapurna Conservation Area Project office and continue our walk to Nayapul. We catch a private vehicle and drive for one and a half hours to Pokhara. Spend a beautiful night in Pokhara city having a leisurely walk along the streets and having your favorite dishes-Overnight in a Hotel-

You can take a flight or take a drive to Kathmandu. It depends on your wish. If you choose to fly, it is a spectacular flight for 25 minutes. But, the drive takes around 7-8 hours. We drive along Prithvi Highway back to Kathmandu. Take some rest in the hotel in Kathmandu. In the evening, you can take a short walk around visiting the places and exploring the local lifestyle of the people. You can also go for shopping and enjoy the evening in restaurants in Thamel. You will leave for a full-day sightseeing tour around Kathmandu Valley after your breakfast. This is a completely guided city tour of the UNESCO World Heritage sites of Kathmandu. This tour takes you to the sacred Pashupatinath Temple, Swyambhunath Stupa, Kathmandu Durbar Square, and Bouddhanath Stupa, very ancient pilgrimage sites enlisted in UNESCO World Heritage sites. Necessary Trekking Equipment

To fully enjoy your trek, having the right trekking equipment is essential for both safety and comfort. The trekking equipment necessary depends on the type of trek, the time of year, weather conditions, the landscape, and the maximum altitude of the trek. A properly packed trekking backpack is light and also includes multipurpose clothing items. It is important for you not to forget the essential equipment for your safety and comfort on your trek.

Please make sure that you bring sufficiently warm clothes, especially during the winter season (Dec – Feb). Not having the required trekking equipment and clothing will not only significantly decrease the pleasure of trekking, but could also worsen case scenarios that could be life-threatening. It will also be a burden to you if you pack unnecessary equipment. For your ease, the following are the equipment that you have to bring with you.

During Trekking in Nepal. In most of the places you will get Local Foods like Nepali Thali ( Dal Bhat), MoMo, Chowmin, Thukpa, Fried Rice, etc and some international food Like Spaghetti, Macaroni, Pizza, Pan Cake, Fried Eggs, etc you will get according to the menu. For drinks, you can get Local Tea, Coffee, and also even if you request water for drinks need to pay extra.

How will I get rescued if I am critically ill during the trek?

Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek is a trek where the elevation starts from 1350m to 3210m. Altitude sickness mainly occurs after you head above 2500m. You will not get altitude sickness symptoms below 2500m. Some of the altitude sickness symptoms are Nausea, Headache, loss of appetite, difficulty breathing, and dizziness. Acclimatization is the main thing that helps to prevent altitude sickness. But you can still prevent altitude sickness by drinking more water, avoiding strenuous exercise for 24 hours, and by having a rest day every 600m-900m you go up.

However, one out of 10 people may catch altitude sickness even with all the preventions. We can take DIAMOX if we suffer from altitude sickness. But if the condition does not get well even after taking the Diamox, the guide will immediately inform the travel company. If you will be ill at any point of the trek you will be slowly taken to the lower elevation. If you are ill, then you will be taken to the lower altitude and seek basic medical where our guide will help you, and then if it’s necessary or emergency you will be immediately sent to Kathmandu by emergency helicopter service. This is how you will get rescued if you will be critically ill during the trek.

It is a very difficult question to answer. If you work very hard to make someone happy, and tan, of course, you can expect something extra. It is natural. Isn’t it? However, one shouldn’t force one to give something extra as tips. To be frank, normally, a tip is given at the end of the trip but it is not mandatory. But at the same time, there is no exact guideline to give tips.
